We constructed the framework by consulting Antonovsky's salutogenic model to combined results of previous investigations. The previous investigations were an interview survey targeting nurse awareness of SOC-enhancing support and a literature search targeting SOC-enhancing interventions. We established the following elements in the first level of the structural framework: supporter/caregiver understanding of patient arrangements and care actions, the relationship to deepening conceptual understanding of SOC, and promoting relationshipbuilding between the people involved. For the second level, we identified a common ownership of reality which involves reflecting with the patient on living with DM, and collaborative　support which enables problem discovery and remediation from the perspective of the supporter/caregiver.
