The interview was given at the two areas in SHIKATSUCHO during January through March 2001. As a result, the elderly were hardly engaged in work, ROJINKAI or FUJINKAI, and had many opportunities to go to shop, see a doctor, SYUMINOKAI on both two areas. The people who had some social activities tended to reply that they were in lower depression and higher subjective well-being than those who did not have them by each activity. However, social activities which had the significant difference were different between areas.
