講義「看護学概論I」に取り入れた討議学習に対する学生の評価から、その効果と課題を明らかにし、学生の「自己教育力」を伸ばす教育方法のあり方についての指針を得ることを目的に調査を行った。対象者はA大学看護学部の1年生80名であり、研究者が独自に作成した自記式質問紙を用いて実施した。回答に記載漏れのない有効回答46名(57.5%)を分析した結果、学生の9割以上が討議学習を肯定的に捉えており、特に「主体性」において高い評価が得られた。一方、「意見交換」は全体的に評価が低く、「討議時間が短い」、「討議内容が難しい」などの意見があった。以上から、学生の自己教育力を伸ばす教育方法として、学生の特性や学習時期を考慮しながら、テーマや課題、目的を設定し、十分な討議時間を確保していく必要性が示唆された。 |

We designed and conducted a questionnaire survey to investigate the effects and problems of a discussion-based learning component incorporated into the "Introduction to Nursing I" course at a nursing school and to propose guiding principles for this educational method of developing "self-directed learning". Subjects were 80 first year students in the School of Nursing at A University. Forty six (57.5%) valid responses, i.e., answer sheets without omissions, were obtained. Analysis of valid responses revealed that over 90% of students viewed discussion-based learning favorably. Students gave particularly high evaluations for "independence" which students experience in discussion-based learning. Evaluations were generally low with respect to "exchange of opinions", and students expressed such views as, "discussion time is short" and "discussion content is difficult". The survey suggests that in order to improve self-directed learning capacity in students through discussion-based learning, it is necessary to consider the characteristics and learning levels of students when establishing themes, assignments, and goals, and to set aside adequate time for discussion. |
